I want to lay you down
on a bed of roses;
Where the petals caress your body,
while the thorns tear me to shreds.
My blood keeping you warm
while you lay in my arms
and talk of your day,
as I fight away your storms.
I want to lay you down
on a bed of roses;
The red in the petals
dulled by the scarlet hue of your skin.
My light to keep you safe
while I breathe your darkness away;
The fragrance of the roses, unworthy to rise,
in the shadow of the sweet smell of your bosom.
I want to lay you down
on a bed of roses;
The softness of the petals
masked by your tenderness.
